Rogers Canada said to release HTC One X on April 20, according to rumor

Just a week after finding out that the HTC One X will be made available in Canada on Rogers before the end of the month, we are happy to report that we finally have a suspected launch date from a credible source.

According to the Canucks over at MobileSyrup, who’ve supposedly gotten a tip from the “inside”, HTC’s flagship smartphone will start selling in Canada on April 20th. That’s next Friday, for those of you who haven’t checked their calendars, which sounds like a strange release date, in my humble opinion.
I mean, there’s little in the way of science when it comes to predicting the Canadian smartphone market. I do know that usually, in the US and Europe, devices — especially ones that stir up as much interest as the HTC One X — are usually made available closer to the beginning of the week, rather than at the end. Manic monday’s people!
Be that as it may, the guys at MobileSyrup seem to trust their sources, so, for the time being, I think that we should (or rather, you Canadians should) mark the 20th with red in your calendars.
As far as pricing is concerned, we know that the powerfully equipped handheld will be available for $169.99 on a 3-year contract.

The HTC One X is set to be “Canada’s first LTE smartphone with Beats Audio integration” and will try to mesmerize technology enthusiasts with its stylish design, very capable screen, as well as its powerful performance and excellent optics.
Because we are talking about an LTE-enabled phone, the One X on Rogers will not be powered by an NVIDIA quad-core processor, but will still come with enough power under the hood, featuring the dual-core Snapdragon S4 Krait chipset.
Other features include a 4.7-inch HD display with Gorilla Glass, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of on-board storage, an 8 MP rear-facing camera, as well as the running of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC’s Sense 4.0 user interface on top.
HTC’s beast is already available in some European markets, while in the United States it still doesn’t have a confirmed and official release date. Stay tuned on right here to find out if today’s rumor will gain confirmation anytime soon, but also to get all the details about the phone’s US pricing and availability in the coming weeks.
Are you feeling HTC’s latest, and arguably best, beast of a phone?
