T-Mobile USA’s HTC One S to ship on April 25

It looks like T-Mobile’s HTC One S will sneak past the HTC One XL on AT&T and HTC EVO 4G LTE on Sprint, to become the first device in HTC’s 2012 lineup to be available in the US. TmoNews has received confirmation that T-Mobile USA will ship the 4.3-inch Super AMOLED phone on April 25.
The launch date of the HTC One S on T-Mobile was first detailed on the carrier’s internal marketing kit for the phone, which highlights the features of the HTC One S that employees should tout to lure potential customers. Being that Wednesday is the typical launch day for new phones on T-Mobile, this only strengthens the case that One S will touch down on April 25, as it falls on a Wednesday.
TmoNews Some of the biggest selling points of the One S include its 7.95mm thin profile (the thinnest T-Mobile device, apparently), the Beats Audio integration (no Beats earbuds, though, you’ll have to buy them separately), 4G HSPA+ speed, 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 8MP rear camera, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Note that the One S won’t come with an NFC chip, but we don’t think many of you will miss it.
What about the price that T-Mobile customers will have to shell for HTC’s jewel? For now, T-Mobile hasn’t really given any official confirmation regarding the price of the One S. However, it shouldn’t be more expensive than what other carriers are charging for the HTC One X, in other words, less than $200 on-contract.
There’s apparently more twist to the story. The HTC One S variant that T-Mobile will ship on April 25 is the blue-ish variant of the phone, with the black & red one to be made available in June. The casing on the former won’t have the same Thor-inspired micro-arc oxidation treatment as the latter, which is a bit of a bummer.
We’re very excited about HTC’s holy trinity of smartphones finally making a much deserved splash in the US. Given the choice between HTC One X, S and, V – regardless of the carrier – which one are you rooting for the most?
